I'm amazed by the positive reception my Sonic CD re-imaginations have received, specially the Stardust Speedway video, so @JonSpeedArts and I really put a lot of effort into the making of this new remix.
Tidal tempest has always been a relaxing song compared to the other zones, so I wanted to give it a bit more of energy by playing around with the lenght and positions of the notes of the original melody, in order to make it sound more interesting and groovy; chords also went through a lot of changes as I've been learning a couple new tricks that I wanted to put to the test this time. I also incorporated little references to the US counterpart, such as the vocal chorus, the background guitar riff, and subtle references to the bass line.
On the visuals side of things, JonSpeedArts had a lot of really cool ideas, like basing the whole video around Sonic waiting for bubbles to eventually get drown, not to mention his insane pixel art and animation skills, make sure to check him out later! I've also been composing music for his upcoming Sonic mod, so please look forward to that as well hehe.
